~^~ The Story ~^~
Orbitting a primative planet, on the outer frontier of Cyo-Federation space,
an observational satalite briefly detected a fleet of approaching alien
probe before it's transmission was severed at the source.
Given the serious nature of alien intrusion, a mercenary scout was deployed
to investigate the origins and intensions of the probes. Upon entry to the
planet, the scouts ship mysteriously develops system wide malfunctions and
crash lands on the planet.
Coated in a thin layer of water, this aquaplanet was firmly in the grip of
an alien plot. The probes, designed to recruit and brainwash the inhabitant
creatures, where spread ove a wide oceanic area. Located in the midst of
these probes, and it's newly recruited defences, the pilot decided to repair
the ship and return to HQ for re-enforcements.
Unfortunately, a vital component was beyond repair, a syon mode emitting
geo-navigator. The only other S.M.E.G curcuit available was in the stolen
satalite, which by now was scattered amongst the alien probes for pathalic
study.
Given no choice, the ten years military conditioning and enough armourment
to start a war, the pilot decided to execute option two; take on the alien
probes single handed.
~^~ The Game ~^~
The game, which incidently has little bearing to understanding the story,
is traditionally a 3D shoot'em'up. You'll proceed sector after sector of
hostile infestation, and you must defend yourself or you will be killed!
You task in each sector is to locate the alien probes, search them for
satalite components, and then detroy them. It's also known that the alien
probes, once recruited enough creatures, will be able to replicate more of
them! Destroying the probes is essential! Further, although it's not
ethical to kill creatures under the influence, you have little choice. It
must be considered from the big picture. The alien probes occupy a small
part of the planet, and the Cyo-Federation must be alerted of this very
serious threat and send a decontamination force. Destroying the creatures
is essential!
As you adapt to the planetary gravity and oxi-nitro atmosphere, you will
become stronger and be able to use better and more powerful weapons. But
to begin, you'll only be able to use your low-grade pistol. The more aliens
you kill, the more adreno energy you'll gain and the faster you'll adapt
to your environment. Andreno energy marks the level which tells you what
weapon you can handle.
You are given an 'energy' to protect you from attack for a short while.
Your 'Body energy' is marked in red and once drained, cannot be replaced,
however 'Armour energy' can only account for half of your maximum energy
but CAN be replenished. The alien probes will have energy interfaces from
where you can steal energy for your armour and ammunition energy.
You weapons use a form of ammunition energy. It's a low-electron version
of your armour energy. If you are in deadly trouble, you can transfer
armour energy to ammunition energy, but you will expell andreno energy in
the process. You can also resupply ammunition energy by intaking a smell
capsule.
A smell capsule is a pasafists weapon you carry in case a diplimatic
attack mission is required. In this case, the capsules are very potent and
the creatures will not approach you if you break one. These only last
a while and you only have a few of them.
One feature you have already discovered in the probes can relay intelegence
to other probes. You submitted a damaged probe you landed on to one of
you smell capsules, which was surprisingly replicated in a neigboring probe.
Both where destroyed immediately, but not before you concluded the capsule
would start to appear in ready to use replications all over the area. It
is poetic justice that the very devices that are threatening this planet,
may in turn save it. You are quite sure a steady supply of capsules will
become available throughout our mission. You hope, at least.
In addition to your vital and nessesary statistics, you also have a wrist
mounted radar, both long and short range. A claxon which responds to
dangerous situations, and compartments in your water-suit for four smell
capsules.
Once you have found enough pieces to rebuild the geo-navigator, you can
transport back to your ship, leave the planet surface and begin routine
extermination of the alien probes with the powerful help of an armed
Cyo-Federation Fleet.

~^~ The Epilogue ~^~
Upon completion of the game, you'll get some nice words from Digital Ninja
and an offer you might like to consider. But only to those who are good
enough to finish the game.
If you haven't already got it, there's a demo version which contains a one
disk animation that isn't in this version. Unusual, yes. But in order
to reduce the price burden on you, Digital Ninja try and make it as easy
as possible for you to enjoy our work. (That is, while keeping us pretty
content as not to stop creating altogether). The PD version is of course
free, or very cheap, and don't let anyone charge you more than a quid for
it!
If you're impatient (besides not actually reading this), will be the kind
of dude who presses fire button as soon as it says 'press fire button'.
Well on the title screen, if you let the text run through the banter about
Digital Ninja. I think you'll be interested in the credit call that not
only gives you a run down of everyone involved in this production, but you
get a snapshot of what we look like! That's me, two other members of our
Digital Ninja Development Team, Andrew Campbell and Mike Richmond. It's
new, it's highly embarrassing, but it's entertainment. And that's the name
of the game, according to us!
To regular players of DN software, you'll know this game was completely
coded in AMOS Professional. The graphics is DPaint IV. The music in a
combination of MED, Protracker and assorted converters. Every byte was
crafted by skilled game designers and you should count yourselves lucky
you own even one Digital Ninja game. Very soon, you won't be able to
get hold of a DN game for less than thirty quid! You just see.
Enjoy the game, thanks for all your letters and the unhindered praise over
our other productions and I hope to read some more inspiring post, general
moans and queries.

cost me a tenner this week alone!
